I bought a z12 a few months ago and I love it. I was thinking of buying another for my friend for her birthday. I was looking at the CTO page and I don't see an option for the 1920x1080 screen. Did they remove that? Do I have to wait for the z13?
Also, is there any new news on getting linux to work with the hybrid graphics without hacking the bios to turn a drive off? I've heard that the 2.6.35 kernel has support for video card switching but I haven't seen anything clearly stating that yet.

Also Falmarri, should you ever need another friend, look me up.

Also, bumping for answer to my question about linux -
You're unlikely to find the linux answer here. Unless I missed a thread somewhere in this forum....
(I just ordered my Z12 and will be using linux exclusively.... I made the purchasing knowing this is going to be an (expensive) hacking experiment device, but also it sounds like reasonable progress has already been made, and I know what I'm getting into.)
The 1920x1080 has slightly better linux support than the 1600x900 screens from what I've read, and it's based on custom kernel patches and stuff.
The Vaio Z linux people seem to hang out here:

So that's where you'll find your answers; I guess by going through the list Archives, which is what I'm about to do.
