My z540 seem to have an great deal of unwillingness to install window xp pro. Every single time i tried, something would help to prevent it from -

    1. Blue screened right after it boot into the installation disk
    2. Blue screened right before where you would go partition the drive
    3. Black screen right after restart from copying files to hardrive - does not want to boot

What is going on? is my z540 curses? Or is there others?

I had the laptop warranty once already for other reason ( keyboard and screen problem ) cough. and they also ran a diagnostic check on hardware and it passed everything.

Please help - I am so tired of vista kept bugging out on me - half the time , my fn keys and stamina/speed switch does not even work after i used for a couple of days -.- and other reasons

lol i just gave up and install window seven works great! :O loving my z now .. now i'm wondering if i should upgrade my hardrive to a WD 500GB.

Will it ruin my warranty? I do have a extended 2 year protection plan from sony
and Will my G-Sensor still work with the Wd 500gb blue?

I upgraded to the 500gb WD. Be prepared for more vibration. It drove me crazy and I went back to the original. I am going to wait until SSD's are cheaper and more reliable.

eww thank you for the comment i was just about to install it lol. Does the vibration created a lot of noise? are you sure that you didn't get a defective one? How is your battery life compare to the original 320gb ?

and Last is the G- sensor still operate?
