I am looking at getting either the sz 160 or 180 when it is finally released here in the US.
I am worried about the Sony's graphic system. I , as all my other computers, will be running linux, but I am worried about how this will work in the sz graphics system.
The best case scenrio would be that they are both activited on stop, and are treated much like a KVM system, so that hopefully linux would be able to hotswap sending the signals to each card, while saving battery power ... hopefully.
But I am afriad , this might not be the case, and before I jumped to conclusions I wouldn't to see if I could find anyone who has or is running linux on this type of setup, and how it is working for them.
So ... How goes it?

Its to early for the SZ series for every aspect of Linux to be tested out on it. I will be doing some testing as soon as I get mine.

I didn't know if this system was out on an earlier SZ or on another Sony laptop that someone else would of testing.
Thanks for keeping me updated. -
a small update ... I read in another notebook forum, that they think it requires a reboot for the switch to become effective ... if so that should mean some good compatiblity with linux ... I really can't wait for this thing to be released.

I installed Mandriva for grins last night. Haven't had time to play with it much. There is a link in another thread to a site where a guy has been working to get his sz110 and linux running. He claims there is supposed to be a full linux driver available soon for the 7400 card. I used the generic geforce driver, and it displays correctly, but I haven't done anything with it really.
