    SonyStyle Refurbs?

    Hi,

    I'm considering buying a refurbished vaio from sonystyle.com. I get the same warranty as a new machine, so I cannot see the downside.

    Am I missing something?

    Refurbished machine from Sonystyle.com comes with 90 days warranty only. If it comes with the regular 1 year warranty or above, it is not refurbished, but models that were ordered and built but canceled before shipment -- in other words, brand new. There is no downside on buying those, at all.

    There is no such website, unfortunately. You will have to rely on the retailer/seller's information.

    You can purchase the same warranty protection for a refurbished Sony that you would with a new one, and I'd certainly recommend doing that. I just bought a refurbished S480 with 2-year warranty protection, and it is in beautiful conditon. I got an incredible price, and have no regrets at all.
