Some improvements that would clarify this website would be:

*Under SR Customization, indicate that the screen is indeed LED and not just XBRITE-ECO. It says this on the specs page but not on the receipt and that is important, IMO.

*360 Degree views of new laptops

*is there a link to click for non flash based purchasing? imagine iphone shoppers.

*more detailed products tours of new laptops. Official videos, pictured with extended batteries, of all colors, ect..

    * A user forum would be nice. Not sure if they have one already, but a forum link for each series of laptop would be nice.

    * An option to purchase a clean install cd for reasonable amount of money. 5 bucks!

    what else?

They suck then if that's the truth. they could at least give college students a freakin break... and don't tell me that 200 bucks off is anything special..anybody can get it..millionaires can get it.. **** that.

what about the ****ing college people that want sony's cool looking laptops and their business but need a decent break?... I mean.. better to give us a 15% off than to have their business go completely elsewhere to other companies.

THINK ABOUT HOW MANY STUDENTS WOULD OPT FOR A VAIO IF THEY ACTUALLY WERE COMPETITIVE WITH HP AND DELL STUDENT DEALS. The students would probably pick a VAIO anyday!

    ANYWAY....THINK ABOUT IT!!!

I don't quite get your reasoning. If I followed your logic correctly, Ferraris should be sold for $10k so everyone can own one. Is that right?

If you can't afford it, then don't get it. Sony has been known to sell at premium.

And if you have troubles with their website, shouldn't you address the issues to them? What can anyone here do about it?

This has always been the case & Sony's premium pricing is not solely just on laptops. You may notice that for their other products, this is usually the case. Their business model is based on positioning the company brand as a premium brand instead of an "average" brand. Unfortunately, what this means is that we consumers will have to find a way to fork out the money for a Sony product we liked...

Do college students need expensive cars? Are cars educational tools? (besides auto school or whatnot)

Also, posting issues about sonystyle.com could provide people with:

    1. Clarification. If somebody else like I was thinking "hey what the hell.. I thought it came with LED screen and there's no mention of it in the receipt description..." they could clarify that here.

    also...

    2. Just like many forums, ranting is not an unusual thing. Freedom of speech. I'm not inciting any violence nor violating TOS therefore it's completely fine.

    3. Suck it. How many times do people have to use completely off topic comparisons to attempt to prove a point? Stick with laptops not cars or jet airplanes.

Outie, I mean no offense seriously, I just a little wild with words. don't take it personally buddy ;) and suck it is just a wrestling term that brings back good memories of high school.

p.s. Cars get girls, laptops don't...unless your in the calculus club or something. Thus, cars have justification in being overly expensive.

I would suggest...take orders from fellow students, when you get 50, 100 orders..go to a near retailler and tell them you want discout and you have 50 orders.

I am sure you will get it.

That is probably one of the better ideas I've heard around, but I'm not sure how likely it'll happen. I'm also not happy with the fact that the only really price competitive model at the moment is something like the NR, which really doesn't get me excited.

Well...you can also get a nice discout for a few orders...some crazy FZ deals should be out soon, since it will be going out of sale..in europe..we have FZ21Z model for a cheap ~1100 €, which is a very nice deal for such a peace of machine.

Also..we have a "back to school" NR edition, that is around 600€, which is VERY cheap and affordable to anyone....
