Sony is advising its customers to download the stand alone Vista SP1 installer rather than make driver updates that have been tested for the various models available, in order to deal with the issue of SP1 not installing via Windows Update.

The drivers are available on the EU FTP site, provided you know what to look for.

Yeah I was wondering why my Microsoft Updater was not installing SP1. I just downloaded the gigantic 400+ MB standalone SP1 installer and it worked perfectly.

The drivers you will need vary by model. The Sigmatel 5548 and SZ7 fingerprint worked for my SZ. I really do not know what to do about the Intel graphics driver or why it would not install. Perhaps removing the driver that is in place now might help.

The SZ7 driver I referred to is for the biometric processor.

The problem driver with regards to Intel is the graphics driver, not the chipset driver. I can't help you on the graphics driver further and do not know why you can't install the one from the Intel site.
