I have a TZ31, 'downgraded' to XP, which turns a smart, portable, impressive unusable ultraportable into a smart, portable, impressive USABLE ultraportable. It jut ran for a whole flight from Delhi to London! One thing that drives me nuts though.

When typing, in, say, a Word document or Outlook, the focus of my typing was jumping, seemingly randomly, from one place in the document to another. eventually, and on the point of sending it back, I worked out the problem..if you accidentally brush the trackpad for an instant, the focus jumps to wherever the cursor was. How annoying. I now turn off the trackpad whenever I'm working - I plug in an USB mouse anyway, but, is there a beter fix for this.

Also, and parenthetically. The XP d/g worked really well, except for the fact that I can't get the camera to work again. Anyone know where the correct drivers are, thanks.

I have the same problem with my Tosh, but largely blame myself - it depends on how you rest your hands while typing. Apart from disabling the trackpad, I think the only solution is to be more careful while typing, unfortunately. I've kinda got used to holding my hands differently when typing on my laptop to prevent this, but I agree it's a pain.

To be honest, this is another reason why the good old IBM Trackpoint in the middle of the keyboard was very much a better idea than a trackpad...

There are some new notebooks coming out which automatically disable the trackpad when your hands are in typing position over the keyboard - the Voodoo Envy 133 includes this feature and I could imagine it catching on with other models if it works well. :)

Yes, that's a nice feature. What bothered me was that it took the lightest of touches to make the focus jump - I guess there must be some way that this is interpreted as a click. I'm quite happy that this is down to me, but my SO also had exactly the same problem, and she can touch type properly. Anyway, no deal breaker, AND I worked out how to fix the camera.
