NEW: VAIO_F12 Owners Poll about the Display (LCD)!
The more owners votes, the merrier.![]()
I suggest you try this before voting if you did not already tweaked your monitor profile: Vaio_F11 Monitor Profiles Roundup & US glossy vs. EU Premium Displays.
From the FAQ: "You may view the current results for a poll before you vote by clicking the 'View Results' link". Click any blue number to see all the user names.
So non-Vaio_F11 owners, don't skew the results as we can see your user name.![]()
You can only vote once & can't change it by Notebookreview's poll rules.

It is ok, but the viewing angles are not great and I have to get used to (semi)gloss
So I voted for average. -
I forgot there is a EU non- premium screen. The premium EU screen needs to be on there too. But too late for me. Interesting poll though joe.

) about the EU Premium.
There is no way to edit the poll, will ask a mod to see if he could add this option. -
It should be either US or EU style. -

My 1080P EU screen is "Awesome". I took some pictures with my DSLR camera but it didn't do it justice. Seeing Half-Life 2 at 1920x1080 with this quality of colour and uniform brightness was quite amazing.
-
My EU 1080p LCD is awesome
-
Thanks again for the pointer Gandalf, the mod did add the "My EU 1080p non-premium LCD is..." option.
Edit : thank you to the anonymous mod for editing the poll on my behalf!

I apllied the profile generated with a glossy US screen on a EU 1080p non-premium LCD and the colors improved a lot. Only the viewing angle is very narrow so the smallest movement of the viewer requires an adjustment of the screen.
Conclusion: my screen is average. -
I indicated that my US 1080P screen is sub-par. This is a notable weakness in an otherwise exceptional laptop. There is no defect per se in the screen and it performs as designed, just that it is not a good choice for critical multi-media applications.
With the existence of a good 1080P screen in the EU, there was no excuse whatsoever to not provide that option for the North American customers. -
Meh, said that the US 1080p is average. Since I got one of the ones with less bleed, it's not annoying, but its not mind-blowingly good either.
-
saw a US 1080p in stores and thought it was average

I bought Vaio F custom with "16.4" VAIO Premium Display (1920x1080)" option on sonystyle.com. Is that US Premium Display different from Europan Premium Display? Are there non-premium 1080p US displays?
-
Tried to watch a BD movie last night. The screen does not make for a Tier 1 viewing experience. I miss my AW Premium with the matte screen so much I'm tempted to buy one form the Sony discount center even though they're old tech.

Well....its nice to see that the US premium screen got more good votes than bad but the number of bad is still disturbing. I get my F this Friday and can tell you I'll be mighty bummed if the display is a letdown.
