    Hey Guys,

I'm looking at guying the new sony sa laptop. VPC SA 490s

    http://store.sony.ca/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?catalogId=100803&storeId=20153&langId=200&identifier=S_Laptops_S

The problem I'm having is determining if the hard drive on this is easily accessible. All I can find are old videos where the entire laptop (maybe a different model 's series') is pulled apart to swap the hard drive. Is this the case for this laptop? Or is the hard drive accessible through the bottom?

any information would be extremely helpful.

    thanks!

The harddrive is easily accessible beneath the access panel on the base of the laptop. It is held in place by 4 screws, is very easy to swap out. This same access panel also gives access to a free SODIMM slot, if you don't purchase any ram upgrades from sony (not recommended, horribly overpriced!), and the intel 6205 wireless card, which is in a helf length mini pci-e slot
