So my laptop was crawling with viruses in my XP and i decided to format it and install Vista (since i got a free copy from my uni)

i've read/searched and read this forum thoroughly and managed to achieve some success in getting things working (like webcam, memory stick slot, etc..)

but i am having two great issues:

    Video
at first, i used the one in the sony website, however, i couldnt control the aspect ratio in the NVidia Panel, so I updated with the latest driver in laptopvideo2go.com, now i can maintain the aspect ratio of certain programs and games, but i can't activate, or seem to activate OpenGL, that only came to my attention when i was trying to play Counter-strike

    Sound
I am having big issues with the sound. It seems it can't switch between the speakers and the headphones while running a program, such as itunes.
e.g: I have my external speakers plugged in, and i run itunes, good, the sound is playing through the speakers, then, when i unplug my external speakers, the sound doesnt come through my laptop speakers.
Plus, I can't get sound to work in my webcam via MSN.

I know i am a noob, i know i still have a lot to learn,
but in less than a day i have downloaded more than 30 different drivers/softwares and installed and uninstalled and learned quite a lot, but i cant seem to figure these out.

hope someone can shed me some light,

    thank you

Im pretty sure this is not a notebook problem or a windows XP problem. Your probably having a troubling virus that messe with your computers media rather than internet, unless thats the case. Just try to save all your important material on a CD or memory stick and just have a full blown clean out on that computer.
