    Hi,
Whenever I connect my TV through HDMI to my Sony VGN-FW510F laptop, the picture gets transferred, but the sound does not. As a workaround, I have to get into Sound setup in the control panel and then click "SET DEFAULT" the HDMI. This has been occuring just recently and it used to transfer without any issue before. Anyone have the same issue before. Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated.

Try updating your audio drivers and possibly your Catalyst drivers.

I have update everything using VAIO update app. There are no more updates for audio or catalyst drivers. What other option do I have?

Update your video drivers here for x86 or x64, and HERE for your audio.

Sony won't update a driver for general performance increases. The only do it when a serious issue is found in the drivers that shipped with the notebook.

You usually have to restart the application that's outputting sound _after_ hooking up the HDMI cable for sound to come.

You should also have a look into the Audio mixer, if everything is enabled and stuff.
