I don't know if this matters or not w/the built in speakers but does it make any difference selecting the default Format of the sample rate of your speakers?

I see on the Advanced tab there is 16 or 24 bit and then different quality's (CD, DVD & Studio) and Hz's of 44100, 48000, 96000 and 192000. Does changing to the higest Hz and 24 bit and say Studio settings make any real difference? The Default is 16 bit, 44100 Hz (CD Quality).

Oh and I lost the speaker adjustment on my bottom tool bar how can I get it back?

    Thanks guys

yes it does, if you choose the lowest setting you'll notice that the sound output rattles, having said that you wont notice the difference between the few last high options.

Actually no, at least in my cases.

I gave up on installing any drivers that not either coming from Sony for my model or from Windows (update expanded option)

But if you want to try, I recommend a restore point or back-up of the previous driver.

    cheers ...

After you select Sounds and Audio Devices make sure you are viewing the Volume tab. There should be a box says Device Volume in that box area you can adjust ur speaker's volume and tick/untick Mute and Place volume icon in the task bar.
