    Special Button & Function (blue) buttons not working

    I've a Sony SZ483N/C and in a recent rather bizarre development both of the special buttons and function buttons (in blue) have stopped working on my notebook.

    I tried checking the utility of special buttons, it's still there and doesn't give any errors.

    What might have gone wrong and how can I correct it?

    try reinstalling the sony event services.

    Try to see if your special buttons setting has been changed. Go to:
    Start menu --> All programs --> Vaio central
    Under the "Categories" tab: special buttons --> s button

    From there, you can change the settings for the special buttons.
