    Hello,
I was wondering if there's any way to program these buttons (S1, S2) to something else than what is in the dropdown menu in the control center. For example it would be great if you could make them change the speaker volume, so that for instance s1 lowers it and s2 increases it. I think more people than me would love to program the special buttons this way, as there is no manual volume control other than the fn+f3/f4 combination. And while doing a presentation it's nice to be able to control the volume easily since when I'm playing audio tracks or video the volume of the different files varies. If someone has a solution or just simply agrees please post :)

Since it is possible to make those buttons launch a program, I wonder if it might be possible to make two small applications that either decreases or increases the volume by letting the program "push" fn+f3 or fn+f4.. Not that Im a programmer, I just thought maybe someone is capable of doing that ;)

hold down one of the S buttons to bring up the window to change what it goes to. I have one set to open DrJava, the other to set to open my N64 emulator.

I dont know if they can be changed to do volume up or down, but its a possibility. I remember an option to mute it, and also an option for brightness control, but I dont think that they can be set to perform complimentary commands, like Vol up for S2 and vol down for S1, so probably not.

It's really a shame though that they didnt implement the option to program these buttons more freely. But like I said, if it's possible to make one application that decreases volume and one that increases it, these buttons could be used for volume control. Any programmers around? :)

You can always go to www.download.com and get a program launcher for any key on the keyboard. A lot of these things are free too and use less than 500kb RAM.

Yeah but thats not the problem. I dont need an application that lets me configure hotkeys. I need an app that will "push" a set of keys for me when I push a hotkey! ;)
