I downgraded from Vista Business to XP Pro on my TZ150n. I obviously have the integrated WAN. I downloaded the EVDO drivers and installed them, my WAN is enabled, but I don't have any way that I know of to actually USE the WAN.
I contacted Sony, they won't help at all since I'm not running Vista anymore. According to them, it is impossible that I am even using this thing right now to type this. (I've tried a few different times with them, so it's not just 1 bad tech support person) The connection manager software that Sony provides only works in Vista. I tried installing it anyways, it wouldn't install.
I contacted the card manufacturer, EVDO or something, spoke with a tech guy, and he said he did the same thing as I on his TZ150, and that the connection manager software to actually use the card comes from Sony.

Sony won't actually tell me whether they make the software for XP, they just keep telling me that this computer will only work with Vista.

Can someone please help? Pretty soon I will give up and buy a actual card to get Broadband service, but I'd much rather use the one that I paid for and isn't sticking out the side of my machine. TIA.

Hold times are horrendous, but you might want to try giving Sprint a call directly if you're using their EVDO service. Most of the mobile broadband software is available at http://www.sprint.com/downloads/

Really, you should have asked the technician you spoke with if he could email you the software he installed, or at least a link to it.

Incidentally, Sony's site lists the integrated card as a Novatel, so you may want to use the general purpose Novatel driver. I'm not sure which of the following two would actually match your card, but here are the two Novatel drivers available from Sprint.

    Novatel S620/S720/U720/EX720/U727:

    Novatel Merlin:

Yep. It is the UX one above. I downloaded the Novatel driver from the Sony site (the Vista version). I then downloaded the desktop software from Sprint's website for the Novatel card that includes the ExpressCard models. Works like a charm! Went through an initial setup for Rev A access, but then I was on my way!

I recently downgrading from vista to xp and noticed the interface (FN F1) to toggle between - Sprint, Lan, Blue tooth, Sprint/Blue tooth, Lan/Blue tooth feature has ceased to be available.

In vista, it was cool, because it allowed me to make quick changes to how i want to connect to the internet.

Now, I have to double click on the Wireless Switch Utlity at the bottom right (near the clock) on the task bar, uncheck the wlan and check the wwan. Then open up the Sprint Connection Manger, wait for it to load and then click connect.

The Vista way was so much quicker. I chatted with sony and they suggested I download and install the Shared Library driver/app and then reinstall all the drivers. That was a pain in the butt and it didn't leave me any better than I was before, infact it left me off a bit worse with the Wireless Switch Utility.

I had to re-restore the xp and install the vista drivers for the card, download and install the sprint connection manager (btw its the first one on the download page from sprint http://www4.sprint.com/pcsbusiness/support/downloads/items.jsp adn now I am some what happy with the way things are going.

I am looking for a better solution OR if I can somehow activate the nice toggling ability with the FN F1 key combo.

Thank you for your replies, i tried to continue this on the current thread so as to not create a new one.

I hope someone can help me.

    hi guys,

Great forum. Just got an SZ-670 with the integrated SPRINT WAN on Monday. Does anyone know if the WAN is via a removable mini PCI card or is it hard wired to the laptop?

I'd like to swap out the Sprint WAN for VZW is possible.

    Thanks,
