So I'm not really familiar with WAN technology, do all WAN networks operate on the same frequency? Could I, for example, subscribe to verizon's wireless network plan and access it using the existing WAN antenna on my SZ? Verizon's wireless network currently has the best coverage and highest speeds (I hope this doesn't come as a shock to any of you iPhone owners), and as my parents live in a rural area with no other source of high speed internet (with the exception of satellite) I'm looking for a solution for them.
Any info would be appreciated as I know little or nothing about how this works.

You may have a chance with other CDMA networks like Verizon, but that's it. It will not work on GSM networks.
