When I dissembled the unit, I realized that the Northbridge has no form of active cooling just passive cooling. If the Intel HD 4000 is integrated into the Northbridge, this could be a potential failure point in the future and the reason the fan runs at a maximum.

I'm pretty sure the HD4000 is integrated into the CPU, not the NB. It's actually on the same die with the CPU I believe.

this is a common problem. it is not specific for any sony t user. sony insists not to release a bios update or find any solution. shortly, we are regretful to buy sony.

same here. fan at full speed even in BIOS, cpu/mb temperature less than 55C.

I decide to give Sony a try and send the brand new machine in for service. Hopefully they can handle it well. If not, I'll return.

I think Sony will soon release new Bios version to solve this problem, just like S model... so stay patient bros.

It's been months since users/reviews started complaining. My return time is running out soon, but Sony told me they don't have any alert/record on this (hence unlikely to have bios update to address it?)

I posted this question in the T owners thread. Reviews say that the T in idle is abou 30 dba and under full load about 42. I can remember that my Z11 has equal loud fan roaring.
Mybe someone owns the Z and T and can compare those machines :)

I don´t know how to mesure it. I compared the idle and full load sounds from notebookcheck. They are nearly the same.
But I wanted some subjective comparison :)
