My Sony Vaio EB36 bought in December 2011 is still not offered with Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 through Windows Update. I browsed through the web and found that I have both the required KB Updates already installed. As the machine is having ATI Radeon 5650, there is no question of outdated Intel graphics driver in the system.

However while searching for the word "igdkm" in Search, I got the following search results.

How outdated intel 64 drivers are present in an ATI system defies my logic.

Can anyone throw some light here???

And windows has all sorts of drivers preinstalled regardless of whether or not you have that specific device.

I prefer to update Windows using Windows Update only. Googling for Windows 7 SP1 is not a botheration for me but I don't prefer Direct Installations.
