The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I want a light (as in less than 3 lbs) laptop with built in Blu-ray and SSD, preferably 11" or 12". Does anyone know of any?

    It seems like Panasonic is making one called Let's Note SX, but it doesn't appear to be released outside Japan. I was hoping for Sony to release something this year, but still no TT/TZ/TX replacement.


    btw. In case someone finds the question familiar I did ask the very same question last year in this thread and previous year in this thread.

    It just blows my mind that there is not enough demand for Blu-ray playback in a small portable form factor so at least a few manufacturers offers something. I do search frequently for something to pop up, but thought I ask in case I've missed something.

    Let's Note SX does not have blu-ray drive option, it's just a dvdrw.
