Hey guys i have a vaio fz21e with an 8400GT with supposly 64MB VRAM but when i run lspci -vvv it shows me this:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G86M [GeForce 8400M GT] (rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
Subsystem: Sony Corporation Unknown device 9005

Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR-
Latency: 0
Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 16
Region 0: Memory at ce000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16M]
Region 1: Memory at d0000000 (64-bit, prefetchable) [size=256M]
Region 3: Memory at cc000000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=32M]
Region 5: I/O ports at 2000
Capabilities: <access denied>
So if anyone with linux or simply a livecd with the same card but with 256MB vram could run the script and post here i appreciate. I do not have sure but my theory is that all the FZ come with the same configuration but sony block the video memory through the BIOS, but linux does not read from the bios but directly from the hardware.
If someone could help me check this i appreciate.
Thanks

new FZ models have 256mb(as i know)

Well mine is like 8 months older, but the fz21M has 256 of vram. I am trying to find a way to check how many video ram i have.
