    Hi,
my European TX3 has a strange problem with clock time. I set date and time properly in BIOS, but after PC shutdown when i turn PC on clock time\date in BIOS and windows has not progressed, it starts from the last time\entered.

Notice that if I set, let's say, 8pm and I use the PC for 1 hour, after turning off clock starts from 8pm and not 9pm.

Any guess? Maybe I need a BIOS Update? Looks like this: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=8558... cmos battery should be okay since date\time doesn't reset but just "stop".

Sorry for my poor English. ^^'

You didn't disable the ISBMGR in your VAIO startup, did you? In the past people have reported that disabling that has caused the clock to stop keeping time when the machine is powered down ------ people were disabling the service in a work-around to try and use non-Sony batteries.

    Whoa.
    Thanks for the reply. :)
By the way no, I didn't....maybe I messed up something though. How can I see if it is disabled?

I have had exactly the same problem on a tx3xp/L.
Basically the BIOS clock is frozen completely, phoned sony support who initially suggested plugging it in overnight without the battery to charge the CMOS battery (I wasn't aware these were rechargeable but then perhaps notebook mobos are different to desktop ones in that respect) but that did not work, so there appears to be a hardware problem and the retailer (Sony Centre) has agreed to replace unit as this is only a week old (the clock never worked anyway ie defective from purchase).
Thought I might share my experience.
