Been working fine, had Win7Pro 64 on it, yanked it and used a temp 120GB SATA to test WIn8Pro64, liked it.
SO today:
1) Plugged Vertex4 into a usb-to-SATA adapter and cloned with Acronis to keep an image of the Win7Pro just in case
2) Backed up the 120GB just in case, also Acronis
no issues there...
Installed the Vertex4 in the Sony, no issue
Booted Windows8 CD, no issue, selected to erase paritions, found them correctly, started the copy...
About 22% Windows 8 install gave a ton of popup errors, so I swapped to a different DVD of WIn8, then tried again, but now the Sony REFUSES to see the Vertex in the BIOS.
It is seen on an HP EliteBook 8440p on USB-to-SATA and internally, and the SOny sees it on the USB-to-SATA, but not internally.
Sees the old 120GB and another 500GB SATA hdd fine internally, just not the Vertex4.
Any ideas?
Has latest firmware (checked mounting it internally in the 8440p andusing the OCZ bootable toolbox) of 1.5, and works fine on the 8440p.
I'm stumped.
Can't be the Sony's controller or cable, because 2 other HDDs work just fine (120 and 500 GB).
Any ideas?
I'm open to anything here...![]()
tried [RAID] and [AHCI] setting in BIOS, but no dice - does not show up in the BIOS like at ALL.
Thanks!

Nothing, huh? OCZ replaced the unit, same thing. Laptop still sees the 2 HDDs, plus a borrowed Samsung 840 series 128GB SSD, but refuses to see the OCZ Vertex 4.
Strange issue with Sony Vaio SE 15 (VPCSE190X) and OCZ Vertex4
