    Hi,
Today my VGN-FE31m has developed a screen issue that looks like this
ttp://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k108/tobyd10/15122008.jpg and ttp://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k108/tobyd10/15122008001.jpg(add an 'h' to the front of the link)
The white areas of the screen are fine its around the coloured areas like desktop and window surrounds that i get purple pixels. Is this something I can fix or is this an expensive issue.
Thanks very much for your time.
    Toby

If this is an Nvidia chipped machine, please join this thread:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=268277

We are asking everyone there to contact Sony customer service to report any issue with their Nvidia video. Make sure you get a name of the rep you spoke to and a case number. Then add that info to our thread. I am compliling a list of cases.

It is an Nvidia GeForce Go 7600 - is this one of the problem chips?
Do I just report this to Sony as I don't intend to send it off for repair as its 2 years old and out of warranty?
    Thanks

Yeah, the 7600 is one of the affected cards. Feel free to sign any petitions and at least let Sony know about the problem, even if you don't intend to get it repaired. The more voices, the better. Sony really needs to own up to this problem.
