    Hey all ,
    I have SONY VAIO VPC SB , the problem that I recently notice that my laptop battery not charging while laptop is off or in hibernate mode , when I plug the charger , battery indicator lights up just for a seconds , but it start charging again as soon as I turn the laptop on and win logo appear ??

    when the laptop on or in sleep mode the battery charge normally (there is no problem )??

    is this normal ??

    I have this problem with original WIN 7 and now with win 8 ??

    Reporting the same problem with the OP,

    I also have VPCZ2 my sister have VPC-SB

    Both are having the same issues like the Op's , they wont charge unless the turned on or in sleep mode (the charging led lit for a moment and then shut off)

    I already tried with different charger and tried removing the battery and then replacing it again, still nothing works

    Hopefully someone can come up with the resolution as this is very inconvenient

    Hi,

    I had the same issue with the SA
    Tried removing the battery, different chargers, nothing worked. I just find out that once battery care is enabled, at some point, is causing this behavior.
    After disabling it, everything works perfect and the system is able to charge the battery if the laptop is off.

    ps -It seems this only happens with the latest version on the vaio control center, an older one works with no issues.

    i had that problem and someone told me to completely discharge my battery and now my computers completely messed up.
    battery doesnt get detected at all...
