I bought an Open-box Vaio FW from BestBuy Canada a few days ago; they assured me the product had no defects, and told me I could return it for a full refund in 2 weeks. I have clean installed Windows 7, undervolted, optimized everything, and discovered just recently a stuck pixel near the top edge of my screen.

I've tried various methods to fix the unstuck pixel, to no avail. Should I exchange my laptop for a new one? Is it worth the hassle?

i wouldnt keep it. thats probrobly why it was open box. someone saw it had a dead pixel before you and brought it back.

i suppose if it doesnt bother you then keep it im sure you got a deal on it. i know people who have had them and just dont care. if its stuck green or red or something i dont think id keep it personally. its to distracting and draws your focus to it

I've always lucked out with pixels on new machines, Knock on wood :)

I usually bring down a copy of Dead pixel Buddy on a flash drive and check it right there in the store. If there were dead pixels I could send it back right away before I get attached. I know that a dead or stuck pixel would drive me nuts.

I currently have a worse problem on my TX, I am two months out of my extended warranty and my sisters cat jumped on the screen causing damage along the bottom of the LCD. This resulted in a half inch wide vertical white line a third of the way across the screen. Haven't decided whether to buy and repair the new LCD or to put the $300 towards a new or used machine???

    Good luck Noverlap :)
