Ok, so my FZ190 just got delivered today, as a matter of fact I am typing on it right now. I found out I don't have any DVD recordable CD's at my house and I installed AIM and MSN messenger already. Will this affect the way I make recovery disks tomorrow so if I got a virus, it will install AIM and Messenger all over again? Same thing goes if I were to download Battlefield 2. Thanks in advance!

First, when you start a thread you might want to think about selecting a title that represents what the thread contains. Starting one with "Stupid question..." is not going to gain much attention. Choose a title that specifies what the thread is about.

Anything you do to the machine, short of deleting the hidden partition will have NO EFFECT on the recovery DVD's. They only create a DVD copy of the recovery partition contents. They do not make a recovery of the current state of your machine.

The recovery disks are meant to re-create everything that originally came installed in your computer (out-of-box state).

So, even if you install dozens of apps when you use these disks all your data will be lost.

    Hope it helps.
