    Hi all:

I just got my CB laptop less than one week ago and today sony decided to slap a $130 off to all C series laptops. Is it possible for buyers like me to get some kind of refund? Has anyone experienced some thing like this before?

Any suggestions much appreciated! Thanks :D

Someone may be able to elaborate further on this, but I think it was mentioned that there's a price drop guarantee policy Sony has. If you haven't yet, try checking on their site to see if there's any info regarding that.

Did you buy from sonystyle.com? If so, call customer service and tell them to issue the refund to you or you'll send the laptop back and buy elsewhere. Worked for me on my Z series. I spent about 20 minutes on the phone and talked to 3 different people (cs rep, supervisor, 2nd supervisor). You have 30 days to return it if they won't refund the difference.

Call and ask very nicely. They dropped the blu ray upgrade price by $70 after I ordered a CTO computer and they gave me a credit of $50+ tax.

Sorry I'm not selling my baby. The forthcoming Z doesn't interest me, and quite honestly the SA only offers a better processor and a better graphics card to me.

But maybe you'll find other members on here who'll sell when the new Z comes out.

And that relates to his question how?

Sony service reps are generally nice (after you bounce around through 2-5 of them). I'm sure you'll get some credit, atleast $100

It relates to his question because I'm stating why I'm not selling it. Read: no better successor.

I'm curious, do you have the computer in hand or does Sony still have to ship it to you?
When I ordered my Z, there was a $50 off processor upgrade a few weeks after I got mine and I didn't get anything back. (although I didn't try that hard, I only sent an email)

yea, I had the CTO CB on my hands for like 5 days after I received it. So I called sony and complained about the unfair drop in price, since i just bought it..it took like one minute before the rep offered a refund. and the rep said she was only able to offer the refund because of the 130 off on all C series laptops including the CTO and ready-to-ship ones, if it was something like a component upgrade, asking sony for a refund will be hard, i assume :(

yea...i calculated how much i would get back even if i return this one and buy again, after paying the shipping, i would probably save like 70 bucks plus i already upgraded it to win7 ult and had all the pirated software installed, lol. i just didn't feel like actually going through the return and wait a couple of weeks for the refund then buying another one again :D
