    Suggestion for Laptop in any brand

    Hi guys

    I'm pretty new to this forum and also to laptops. I'm planning to gift a laptop to one of my close buddy. My configuration and price is as follows.

    1. Intel processor
    2. RAM - 2 GB
    3. Web camera - optional
    4. It should be attractive and lightest weight possible for my price.
    5. DVD writer.

    I would be happy if i get the laptop with the above mentioned requirements in the price range between 25,000 - 30,000.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    What money are you using ? This should influence a bit the suggestions you'll receive...

    I think 2Gb ram and Intel processor are pretty common specs, you may put your interest on battery life, performances, size and what stuff you want into the laptop.

    What use do you think it would be for ? It is a determining point.

    Its Indian Rupee.

    Battery life for at least 3 hours should be fine. Size can be of less than 2 Kg. Windows Vista or 7 will be fine with Intel core 2 duo processor.

    Performance wise it should not hung up for at least 10 different tabs in he browser along with net-beans or similar tool should be opened. It will be even good if i can play a movie parallel y.

    Mainly it would be used for programming.

    Hope the requirements are clear.

    Any help would be appreciated.
