    Hello community,

I got a question to the ones who have already exchanged their screen of above mentioned notebook:

    do you think...

    - is it possible to change it for the IPS screen Asus uses in their 13" zenbook prime models (FHD, IPS)
    - or the one from the 13" samsung series 9 (900, PLS)

The SVZ13 is a great notebook. But expansive and the viewing angles are really something which bothers me. Although the contrasts and gamut are great...

thank you so much for your input!

P.S. here is a picture of the CMO panel in the zenbook: Asus Zenbook UX32VD Teardown - Page 3 - iFixit

13.3" vs 13.1" already should tell something, I don't think it's going to work to be honest.

As mentioned, they aren't even the same size. The Z is 13.1" whereas basically all other 13" laptops are 13.3".

Wonder if the zenbook screen would work in the S13P? Making it the end all perfect laptop.

Well, they all have the same "pixel-ratio" (FHD or 900). so this sounds strange to consider as a problem. I was more thinking about the cable or the mounting holes.
the screen is really a deal-braker for me.
but thank you all for your replies!

you sure this is the right screen? In Hwinfo it said: CMN1343.
Ive seen both screen in real: the zenbook prime one is far far superior. IMHO. Like I said, my main concern are the viewing angles. Plus the CMN has almost 100% srgb, too. So it had a above average color coverage.
But would it fit? That´s the question....

Yes they both have a 16:9 aspect ratio, but their physical dimensions are different. The Vaio Z measures 13.1 inches across and the ASUS screen is 13.3 inches. Screen resolution is not the same thing as screen size. Some 17" screens are 1600x900 pixels - good luck fitting one of those in your Z13!

ah, now I feel really stupid. :)
Thank you for that comment... so rather live with the screen or forget about the notebook.

Pretty much. I don't know of any other laptop with a 13.1" display... and even if there was one, odds are it wouldn't be IPS or be as good as the one in the Z.

Now putting a display from the Asus UX31/32 into a Vaio S13 might be possible (they are both 13.3") but the connectors are probably different.
