Hi all, I'm about to order a SR from Sony, but I'm still a little bit confusing about the software specification of the new SR series:
    "Anti-Virus and Recovery Software: Microsoft®
    Windows Live™ OneCare™ Trial Version"
Does Sony still have an independent recovery partition? Or now MS Live OneCare is also in charge of system recovery (cuz I plan to uninstall MS Live)
    Any help is appreciated!!!

Windows LiveOne is another of MS's trying out their hand on antivirus. It is very bothersome, so I uninstalled it from day one. You can use Avast (free home version) which does a pretty good job. The regular sony vaio recovery partition is still there. All you need to do is to create the recovery discs as soon as you buy, and don't forget to follow the instructions, i.e., turn off all applications, turn off wireless switch, unhook any usb, etc. before you make the recovery disc.
