I'm close to installing my SZ from scratch. A colleague has a WXP OEM CD that is not locked to any particular system, and on the underside of my SZ I have a WXP sticker with a product key written on it.

Can I use this product key with the OEM installation?

    Regards, z.

short answer is no, the product key on your SZ will not work on an OEM XPP install.

    thx.

Which one could work? I have a access to a full WinXp pro and a Volume License Version, but for legal reasons I want to use my product key with them.

Solved the problem and used a Volume Licence copy.

    Yes it will.

I used the product key when I re-installed a clean copy of Windows XP.
I had to use the Microsoft phone system to activate the copy though.

But no problem to install it

I tried it with a full version and it didn't work. Someone at work just told me that it would work with an OEM version. (Still cannot get the Yukon NIC and Sigma sound to work)
