Did you keep Vista on the machine or did you completely wipe it?

If I completely remove vista off the machine will I be able to reinstall it at a later time with my recovery disks?

Also, does everything work when XP is installed? I've read the other threads that included the drivers for the XP install, so I just want to make sure everything works.

    Thanks!

I kept vista installed, and installed xp on the same drive as vista, just be careful to install the sony utility in diffrent paths so that the vista one does not try to use the xp ones and so forth or you'll have conflicts. Apps like office can be common to both os's just needs to be installed in to the same path for both so you get the registry entries.

You can always recover vista as long as you don't nuke the partition that holds it.
Yes everything works well at least i got everything working

    Thanks,
I dont have the recovery partition left after that semi-install with my recovery disks, so I guess if I have the recovery disks, then I will be ok, right?

Now I plan on keeping vista with 30 GB for Vista and the rest of the HD for XP.

I made the recovery disks myself under the Vaio recovery program.

Another question, is there a way to make Vista hidden and just have windows be the main OS that starts up w/o the need of a bootloader?
