I paid $2637 for mine. Think I would go with the sz470 next time or maybe another notebook all together based on the performance I have seen so far out of this sz491

I paid $2635. I do feel that this model has pushed the envelope too much. I don't feel the lightning performance, nor do I see the stability. i'ts causing too much heat for what's worth. Maybe it's related to the infancy of the Vista. But I feel like guinea pig here. I've never seen a cover of the notebook PC warped due to the heat.

Mario why don't you just get the crack XP and install it. Set the BIOS (don't know how with the SZ) so that the SZ boots from the CD drive.

Try pressing F6 during the xp cd boot process to load the SATA drivers... I have no idea how because everything worked for me fine when I installed XP in parallel to vista on my SZ460N.

Looks like you should have gone for the SZ381PX it includes XP, smaller(160GB) but faster hard drive, cheaper price, and it is still the premium carbon fiber.
