I haven't seen this model before. Does anybody know what the difference, if any, is between this and the SZ640?

Well, the 650 has a T7500 and the 645 has a T7250 too. It must be just another pre-configured model like the SZ650.

The only differences between this and an SZ650 is:

    No LED screen
    More weight
    Smaller harddrive
    Slower processor

I think you guys missed my point. Since when has Sony sold a SZ645? This model never existed before.

Oh, I didn't miss your point...I know there has never been a SZ645. But it certainly looks like a SZ640. I think it is just a typo at that website.

It's a 640 model but with Windows XP instead of Vista on it. The 640/645 model is build to order type of laptop. I was looking at it also but these model doesn't have LED. I posted this information before, u can check it out at here http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=187829

Yeah, I saw your thread TinTin. I was looking for hardware differences the whole time, so I didn't notice that the software was the difference. Thanks for the update.
