    Hi,

Ive recently bought 2-2gb sticks to upgrade my memory to 4gb. Ive seen that for vista it can only support up to 3gb, which is fine, but my computer still says that it is only 2gb? whats wrong?

I have a sony sz750 with windows vista.

    Thanks

    Jon

you have 32 bit windows vista? that would be why. otherwise, upgrade your bios. that laptop could actually get up to 8gb memory..ive tested a sz650n myself to confirm.

May be there might be something wrong with the ram/your computer. Even when i never upgraded my BIOS to the latest version that sees all 4GB in a 32bit OS i saw 3GB in the BIOS with a 32bit OS with 4GB installed.

Now with the latest BIOS in a 32bit OS i see 4GB.

Try booting up with both ram modules one at to eliminate that the ram is not the problem.

This is the latest BIOS for SZ6-7 models R0122S5. I believe that you own a SZ5 that was bought in Asia that has the same specs as the SZ6. This might work for you although i cannot promise anything.
