    Sz90 Dvd Burner Problem

    Hi all ,

    I have purchased one Sony VAIO SZ90S from Sony Japan. I changed the OS to English. I am getting problem in using the DVD burner. I sent it for repairing to Sony . They said with Japanese OS it works without any problem. I just want to ask to people purchased SZ90(or SZ91) from dynamism or anybody else who have changed the OS :whether you get any problem in using DVD burner ? However i am able to use all function of Laptop including hotkeys , UPEK security system( in english) and all.

    In addition can anybody tell me whether change in OS can affect DVD burning . It gives POWER CALIBRATION ERROR with Nero and similar problem with ROXIO. I have tried with almost all media(SONY,MITSUBISHI,FUJIFILM,IMATION and many more) available on the earth. SO that is completely ruled out.

    Sorry to add that SZ90 is same model as SZ91 . Only by adding option of celeron processor and removing S series of laptop they name it SZ91 series.

    so now you can answer assuming my model as SZ91.

    Thanks everybody for not answering to my post. Anyway anybody happens to read this post then i am leaving a useful information for VAIO owner. Try to burn the DVD with memory card adapter inserted in the memory card slot. You will get problem in burning DVD. This is definitely a bug of Sony .I believe this problrm is there in all SZ series.

    Hi Anil,
    Mine is exactly same problem... i upgraded to xp pro english on sz90s... and some drivers are not getting installed such as audio, function hotkeys not working....
    could u please send me the drivers u installed on ur notebook....

    Im really sorry for you man, can you just put back your jap OS and then upgrade it to ultimate (assuming you use vista) then download the language pack desired?

    Thanks... for this suggestion... but i have already purchased xp pro and cant really buy another operating system... i got hold of audio drivers somewhere from the net... they work fine now.... but still function hot keys , dvd burner etc are not working.....can you please suggest some link (or a compatible sz series laptop in US) from where i can install all the drivers......
