This only started happening recently out of spite; there's 2 problems.

The light indicating whether my sound is muted or bass-boosted randomly works, even when the sound won't work.
And the sound won't work anymore. It does, but at very random moments. But after about, an hour, then if I try to adjust the volume, it becomes unresponsive, then the sound doesn't work again.
I looked at system properties and sound properties, it says there's no sound device detected.

I reinstalled all drivers and stuff that're related to sound in any form whatsoever, still didn't work...

Need more info... can't find anything through google on your laptop:\

Vista\XP? When did this happen? Any installations, updates etc before it happened and was the sound functioning normally before? Is it a realtek sound card?

Try uninstalling the drivers in safe mode then re-booting into normal mode and updating them from the control panel.

It's XP, this only started happening about, a wek ago.
And no installations or whatnot that I can remember... And yeah, it was functioning fine before. and I don't think it's realtek; it says SoundMAX.

    And i'll try that, thx.
