"Not only are CompUSA and TigerDirect doing discounted deals for Black Friday—they call it Pink Friday because they are supporting the fight against breast cancer—but they are also giving away free desktop computers in store. You'll also get some insane discounts online on limited-quantity goodies. Two crazy examples: A $5,999 Sony Vaio TT with a 256GB SSD, 11.1-inch screen, and Blu-Ray for only $999 (yes, nine hundred ninety-nine dollars) or a Xbox 360s for $99 during a 12 hour webcast. Read on for the complete list. Update: We got the address and time for the webcast, plus other details.
The webcast will be here. The webcast starts at noon and will last until midnight. They will be giving a lot of giveaways, including PS3s, Xbox 360s, Bluetooth headsets, or a 42" plasma TV with a computer built inside of it, among other things." -
oh wow. I might have to leave the house on black friday for these deals then. Thanks for the heads up.
-
Now THAT'S a Black Friday deal I can get out of bed for!
-
You're welcome!
I would soooo get it, if I didn't go over my credit card credit line! -
How on Earth can I get in on that deal?

In particular, read the wiki post. -
Don't get excited. Read the fine prints: limited quantity, not everybody can get one. If it is TigerDirect, it is probably refurbished.
-
It's CompUSA and TigerDirect
-
Dang it, there's a very low chance of me getting this TT for that price and its making me really antsy, I keep hoping that maybe I will be able to get it.
So, I'll have to watch the live webcast for the whole time, and I'll see a number pop up for when the TT pops up and I call and hope I can get my order through, I'll probably waste all those hours watching the entire webcast and some other lucky folks will snatch all of them up. -
Limited quantity = probably 10.
-
Right, chances are they even have less than that, like what Walmart did last year. Probably 3 to 5 is my best bet.
-
-
I don't believe it. If it sounds too good to be true...
Just the SSD costs more. -
If they have limited quantity of... let's say 5 units and 10000 people will call at the same time what chances do we have... Not worth spending the entire afternoon watching an webcast.

sonoritygenius Goddess of Laptops
OMG!!!!!!!! I am so going to TRY lol !!!!!!!! this is UNBELIEVABLY awesome!!
-
It's actually quite a win-win for Sony, given the current economy in US that makes it harder to actually sell a $4000+ laptop. So if they can't sell it for profit, why not get something back in tax break? -
so did anyone get it?
-
-
oh yeah bugger!
btw will the offer be on through the website? how does it usually work?
on pinkfirday it says the deals are not avaliable through the websites or store fronts, however in certain reading material under compusa itself, it states it is avaliable on the website. -
It's a webcast, like those TV charity donation marathon show, and at pre-determined-but-we-don't-know time, the show will tell you what number to call to place order. And then first come first serve, blah, blah, blah...

#1) the items that are being marked down are available ONLINE ONLY during the webcast. The hours of that webcast are from noon Eastern Time to midnight on Friday, November 28.
#2) The webcast can be accessed by visiting: www.compusa.com, www.tigerdirect.com, www.com.puter.tv, www.pinkfriday.org and www.ustream.tv, When an item is shown on the screen, a 1-800 number will be shown and people will have the opportunity to make a purchase. Once the item is sold out, that item's deal is done for the day.
#3) Products are available in limited quantities exclusively during the web broadcast and are not available on company websites or retail stores
#4) While the 24 CompUSA retail stores will NOT have these sale items available, the webcast CAN be accessed from the stores so customers can still participate.
#5) If you do make an in-store purchase on the 28th, you will have the opportunity to make a small donation to Susan G. Komen for the Cure if you so desire.
#6) The reason the prices are being marked down is because the proceeds of each item purchased are going to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
#7) In addition to the webcast, consumers looking to receive Pink Friday updates can either text PINKFRIDAY to 44636, visit www.pinkfriday.org and provide their cell phone number on the home page, or follow @PinkFriday on www.twitter.com.
