Is there a good way to output video to a tv with composite or s-video?

I'd like to be able to use my TZ as a portable media center if I can, but I'd be wanting to use it with older CRT tvs. Is there like a vga to composite/s-video cable or something?

I might have shelled out for a TZ but I still can't bring myself to buy a HDTV ;)

oh, that's perfect, do they work ok? I guess you just set your second monitor to be low res and they'll work for an SD tv no problem yeah?

I have one of those. No go. If anyone knows how to get our tz's to output through composite/svideo let me know. I've been trying to do that for a long time now.

Yeah the VGA to composite doesn't work unless you have one of those special video cards (ATI radeon All-in-wonder), so that is not an option. There are converters which will convert VGA to a composite signal but that will cost you >$100 at LEAST.

Maybe you can look for some USB TV tuner or maybe a device (like the old apple tv) which can you attach to your TV and then stream videos from your laptop. Personally, I have an HDTV with VGA input, but instead of attaching my laptop to it I stream videos to my XBOX 360 and that works well. If all fails, you could just buy a used or basic model xbox 360?

Why wouldn't the cable Johnny T posted work? I used the same thing on an SZ320 and it was fine. Unless I'm missing something obvious or for some reason the TZ, and SZ have different VGA ports then I see no reason for it not be to compatible.

A VGA to RCA cable will NOT WORK!

You need something called a "transcoder" and typically costs about $50-$100 depends if you are outputting to regular def or progressive hi-def TV.

It's analog to analog. I always thought that would work, but I've never tried it.
