Hi I have a quick question for vaio tx850 owners. THe keyboard on my vaio tx850 has a slight rise towards the left of the trackpad. Not only is the area to the left of the pad slightly higher, the keyboard also has slight flex, i.e. the buttons are slightly raised. While its not a big deal, i dont want to have paid 3500 for notebook and still have these imperfections present because it catches my eye every time i use it.
i checked one out at the sonystore and it actually had the same issue, but i'd still like to confirm if this is a common problem or if i should get my notebook exchanged.
thanks

You paid $3500 for a TX850? Please tell me that cost included more than the notebook such as accessories, extended warranty, etc because otherwise, you paid over $1000 too much for it.
Anyways, I'm looking at my TX790P and just noticed that only the left side of my spacebar is very slightly higher, otherwise, the keyboard looks just fine to me. Plus, I've found it very comfortable to type on, I'm typing it on like any other keyboard, perfectly. -
The keyboard on all TXs and on my TX850 is raised very very slightly on the immediate left side of the trackpad, specifically around the Alt and Fn keys.
It's barely noticeable however and doesn't detract from what is otherwise an outstanding keyboard for such a thin and tiny notebook. All in all, I find it superior to the SZ's very loose and soft keyboard. -
My TX850 also has a *very slight* (and I do mean very slight) raised area on the left side. Starting near the upper left corner of the track pad, it looks to peak at the "s" and "x" keys. It is hardly noticable at all and does not affect the unit in any way. The keys are firm and responsive and personally, I really like the keyboard a lot... more than any other notebook I've owned (this is my 5th notebook... my first Sony). It doesn't bother me at all.
TX Keyboard flexed?
