So, I received my TX this morning...a little disappointed for its weight...yeah, my first laptop shouldn't be V505 otherwise I would be so excited about its ultra light...

I love it anyway, just...it makes deep beep when it starts up?

2 beeps, like what you will heard when your desktop encountered some RAM problems while start up...quite annoying...is it normal and is there any way to turn it down? I will try to figure it out

    Thx

Can any TX owner confirm if it's common?

Now I am sure that it comes from the optical drive, every time I press the power botton or put a disc in the driver, the two beeps occurs.

I can't confirm it by myself because this because they don't have any TX in sony store now and the Customer Information Centre guy I just called donesn't know anything about this.

    Thx a lot.

I am a manager for a national retailer and I still have a single TX650 in stock. Do you think this is a close enough match for me to check it?

Oh, I was using a V505 before, the reduction from 2kg/4.4lb to 1.24kg/2.76lb is not that huge...

It is ultralight though, my backpack told me so, he is so happy now

BTW...the optical driver noise is confirmed...get used to it...
