I've been looking for a little while and noticed that TX prices really haven't come down, even though the TZ replaced it a long time ago and the TZ is better in every way.

Anyone have any idea of why this is? Have you seen Vaio TX's for cheap anywhere, used or refurb?

No point in guessing further. Tell us the specific TX model you have in mind and your budget.

Well, I don't have any particular TX model in mind. All of them have Core Duos and 4200rpm drives right? Except the top models? I can upgrade the RAM myself, so basically I would be looking at the base model. I got an openbox TZ from Best Buy for $1500 but returned it because it was too much. I like the feel of the Vaios.

Budget is around $800, which we should be able to get a TX for, considering they're older models now. But I just don't see 'em.

Actually the TX* have Pentium M and the TXN* have Centrino ULV processors. I do not think they offer a TX with a duo processor. I believe the TZ was the upgrade with the DUO processors in them.
