In the past few days, a new problem arose. Pushing the green ON button is not enough - the light doesn't come on, nothing starts.

I must remove the battery and replace it, then all is well.

    What could have caused this?

(This TX is about to be replaced by a Toshiba R600 with an Intel SSD - perhaps it's embarrassment?)

    Doubt the last statement.

    Try a mainboard discharge.

    So:
Remove AC supply and Battery, hold power button down for 30sec - replace battery and try to power up.
    _______________
Just something Sony suggested when my SZ's battery failed, I got a new battery under warranty in the end - the battery had failed for me - it was bad luck.

    Three tries with no problem.
