I bought my 670P a couple of weeks ago and have been quite happy with it (with the notable exception of the noisy fan, of course...) I don't use the cellular connectivity at all and want to remove the antenna before it falls off and gets lost. I'm sure there's a cover or cap of some type that can go in the port when you remove the antenna, but does anyone here know what the part number for that is or where I might get one?

    Thanks!

I have a TX650P and was wondering the same thing. I wonder if the left side has a cap and if so would that fit on the right side where the antenna is now? Are we sure that there is now way to remove the antenna and replace it with a cap?

Possibly take a thick piece of rubber and trim it to fit... Not sure if that is an option as I am not sure how the antenae would come off...

The antenna comes off pretty easily. Just pull it out. It's clearly designed to come out - it has a rubber bushing to help seal it.

What do TX's without the cell option have on that side?

The non-WWAN TX models without the antenna have a plastic cap which is internalized to the case, in other words not accessible without disassembling the case.

The model without the WWAN was only briefly available - it was the TX651. Form what I understand it is no longer available...

I think TXs without the WAN are readily available outside the U.S in Europe and Japan.

I called Sony today to see if I could get a replacement antenna in case something happened to mine. It's around $26. I forgot to ask if they made a cap...
