    I am looking at these 2 models right now and I will buy one of them for sure. But I need a bit help about which one I should choose. As far as I know TX651 is newer model, right? So please give some thoughts which one I choose.

    Thanks in advance.

    Both of these models are 1.2 ghz .. You think there is too much difference with let's say dell 700m which is 1.6 ghz i think.

    TX1XP and TX651 are identical notebooks except for 3 differences:

    1. TX651 is being sold in US and Canada, TX1XP in Europe;

    2. TX651 has 512 MB RAM, TX1XP has 1GB RAM ;

    3. TX651 in USA costs $2250 in SonyStyle, TX1XP costs 1700 pounds ($2990) in Sony UK.

    Therefore, go for TX651 and upgrade to 1GB by yourself. It will be cheaper for you.

    If you told us your budget and what you plan do do with it, it would be easier to help. You should consider the "What should I buy?" FAQ in the hardware forum and post back.

    What I want is an ultra portable laptop with powerful features. I am not a game player. I want it for business purposes, web browsing mostly. I have a budged around $3000 for this. While browsing the web I usually open at least 10 browsers and do not close them as I use most of them at the same time.

    Might want to look at the Fujitsu P7020. It is a little heavier though.

    I just placed an order for the TX651.
    Off topic: have you tried Firefox for your web browsing, with it's tabbed browsing function, so you only end up with one window open on your desktop?

    I am using Firefox since a long time and I am very happy with it. Especially the tabbed browsing feature is very useable. I strongly recommend it.
