I just purchased a used TX651p for school, and thought I would do the "smart thing" by reformating and reinstalling XP.

The only problem is - I used my own XP disks, and didn't realize that in wiping out all of the partitions and reformatting, I would loose the "instant on" features. Unfortunately I was never given the original recovery CDs.

Is there anything I can do? Sony doesn't have the "instant on" software on their downloads page (at least that I'm aware of).

You can try using the ones from the TX850. You might need to do the model changing trick to force the installer to install it though.
