Haha, I just went to Yahoo Auctions yesterday and bid on a Vaio VGN-TX690P/B, the highest speced model in the TX series for $510 where the original bid was $500, the original bidder or anybody else bid on it again and I found out I just won the item!
Haha, on Sony's website, the item sells for $3000, and I won it for about 1/6 of the cost. Now if I actually get it, then I'd have cause for rejoicing. The seller is quite new, only has started last month and has no feedback....yikes. But he does accept credit card and paypal, which reassures me again. I wonder if he'll send the item to me or not?
Even if he really does sell it to me, I still am not too excited though, even though I know many would slit their mothers throat to get a TX for that price. I've heard several complaints about it like lots of fan noise, cheap LCD construction, etc. I actually like the older T series more and I've actually seen those in person, very nice ultraportable. I feel as if the T is overall better than the TX. I'm going to CompUSA later today to see if they have a TX display model and play around with it.
But this is still $510 freaking dollars I'm talking about. Wonder whats going to happen next..................

tell us what happens and what it is like if you get that one or get to play about on one. I have been looking into them too as they are so smart and light and sexy but expensive. I am jelous if you get one so cheap!

The seller has prompty answered all of my questions and is very polite. Maybe she won the notebook and doesn't know its true value?
Even if I score it for so cheap, I still wish I could've gotten a T370P/L for the same price, even if its an older model, I feel its better than the TXs, even though I haven't even had the chance to try out any TXs.
The great thing is, if I get it for only $510, I could use it for a year, sell it for at least $1200 and then use that cash to get a Yonah or Merom notebook!

Be very careful......I heard of some seller are placing their items on auctions but when they ship the item it's only a box or a piece of the item's picture and say "I was auctioning the box/picture of it not the real item dumb...ss"
this happened on e-bay when someone bid for an Xbox360 and atually get only a picture of it for 600+ $$$.
if you really won the item and get it..... congratulations you are the luckiest man of this year (for now). -
Hahaha, sending only a picture of the item, that's unreal. Ya, i'd say be careful now, as you may find yourself in a mess. BTW, 'she' most likely DOES know the true value of that machine, don't assume she is clueless because I highly doubt that. Could ask her how she came to 'aquire it'. My guess is it 'fell off the back of a truck' so to say...
TX690P/B for $510....HUH!?!?
