I just saw the TX850 - UCLA has it in stock.

Strange considering the Sonystyle web site doesn't even list it as a model!

Am I missing something or theres nothing special about this model? I mean this is the normal TX? Or is there something about it that makes it special/

Is there a sonystyle in UCLA or are you referring to the bookstore?

This model has the Core Solo cpu and a biometric sensor compared to the existing TX700 series. However, the 850 does not have the cingular edge modem. Using Core solo, this TX can run for ~ 10 hours!

FYI: this is also called the TX3 series (3rd gen TX), and a nice review is here:

Yeah, it's the first TX that ditches the old Pentium M architecture. The Dual Solo's are faster than that generation of Centrino's and run cooler.

Noticed on Buy.com in the U.S. that the TX being sold is from Sonystyle Canada. I wonder if the others being sold are also from Sonystyle.ca? How might this affect warranty? Still not up on sonystyle.com in U.S. Core duo up there sleeves? JK
