I have read comments about the preinstalled bloatware in the TX and SZ series. People have formatted the hard disk and reinstalled the operating system, but that sounds challenging.

I know you can make their own recovery DVD set, which would unfortunately include the bloat. Has anyone tried using the recovery DVDs brought from Sony?: "A set of DVD's that includes the Microsoft Windows program, plus any original Sony software and device drivers included with the PC. The recovery DVD Assembly does not include any Word processing software, 3rd-party programs, or games."

Also, the TXN-15 just came out but I wonder what the VGN-TXN19P/17P are that are alluded to in the weblink. This is my first post! I'm hoping to buy a TXN soon- just waiting to see how the other models shake out before I take the plunge.

    Thanks.
