I just purchased a TXN25N/B and the wi-fi connection shows only 2 or 3 bars despite being right next to the modem. My other laptop shows the expected 5 bars. Anybody else having a problem with weak connections? Anybody suggest a fix?

Hi biznews,
Sorry for being out of theme but is important.
I see that you have the TXN25, the same i am thinking to buy...can you give me some tips? Are you happy with this laptop? Is with Vista business working good or is slow?
Generally you advice it??
Thanks -
Hmm..not sure on that one Biznews I feel that this TXN25 is faster than the previous TX model I had as far as Wi-fi goes.
Sorry if this was a totally unhelpful post..=P -

On Vista you will always only get 3 bars at maximum. It would be the equivalent of 5 full bars in XP. I think they're saving those other two bars for 802.11n coverage ;-)

..that said, the booting and closing takes much too long. I blame that on Vista. -

Anyone knows if TX27 is also good for gaming?
It has a Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 with 224 MB Total Available Graphics Memory. -
exetlaios you've been asking very basic questions in this and other threads regarding the TXN. With a 1.33GHz Core Solo processor, 4200RPM hard drive, 2GB of RAM, integrated graphics, and an 11.1 inch screen, how do you think it will do with gaming?
I suggest you buy one and try it out for a couple of weeks. You do have 30 days to return it for a refund. -
IsLNdboy,
Instead of doing irony on what i say maybe you should answer. Basic things for you for others ( like me ) are not so clear.
The problem is that i'm in Europe and i am going to buy it here so i dont have the luxury of trying before and if i dont like to return it!.
Sorry if i disturb you.
